WWW laddoo

Amma, what is there to snack on..I want something yummy but no rice please…this is a daily evening call from my son to have something new daily. Thanks to lockdown, my kitchen can never be closed..kids ask and I ponder on what to make quick and be nutritious for them in the same time. So today, I made WWW laddoos .. you are thinking what is WWW??
It is Walnut – Whole-Wheat laddoo for his evening snack.
In case the above dialogue seems to be happening in your house,you can also keep it handy and try your hands on.
Without further ado, let’s get to the recipe to this nutritious laddoo.

Yields : 11-12 laddoos

Preparation time : 10 min

Cooking time : 5min

Ingredients
Whole wheat flour 1cup
Walnuts – 1/2 cup
Jaggery – 1/2 cup
Water – 2tbsp
Ghee – 3tbsp + 1ttbsp
Cashews – 5-6 broken
Raisins – handful

Method

1. Heat a pan and dry roast walnuts. Keep it aside to cool. Then you have to grind it in a mixer grinder. Keep the coarse powder aside.
2. Meanwhile, heat 1tbsp ghee, add whole wheat flour and roast it..in between add 2tbsp ghee more to it and give it a mix continuously to avoid forming lumps. Once it changes color and gives a aroma, take it out in a bowl.
3. To this flour mix, add walnut powder too.
4. When it’s cooling a little, take another pan and add jaggery to it and the 2tbsp water to it. Let it boil and jaggery gets melted.
5. Simultaneously, heat a small pan and add ghee and roast your cashew nuts and raisins to it. And keep aside.
6. Now when your jaggery is melted fully, switch off the stove. Let’s strain this jaggery syrup to the roasted whole wheat and walnut flour mix in the bowl.
7. Mix the jaggery to the flour. Now add the roasted nuts to it and give a generous mix further.
8. Grease your hands with ghee as the mix is hot to your touch. And roll it into laddoos. Your nutritious Walnut Whole Wheat (WWW) laddoos are ready to indulge.
